About the 2019 tour (dates were September 10-15, 2019)
We met on a Tuesday in Banff, Canada. Of the 8 people signed up for the Canadian Rockies tour I knew half from previous tours and the other half were joining me for the first time. Immediately I knew this group was going to be great. We started photographing early the next day and our first location was a canyon with waterfalls. Everyone enjoyed the hike and learned some new techniques for photographing moving water. Our first sunrise was a screamer and both locations that day showed us gorgeous light. My group was flexible to the many schedule changes and always interested in photographing more. As the week went on we drove to lots of places where the weather and other unforseen things kept me, as leader, on my toes. The mountain light provided us with its usual magic several times. We finished up with an awesome wildlife day when we saw a loon, an eagle, a red fox, and a swimming bull elk. This group had the right amount of humor when we needed it as well as being serious about getting great photos when we needed that too. Thank you to all the 2019 participants! All my images below were taken with a Canon 5D Mark IV and a Tamron 28-300mm lens. I am offering this tour again in September of 2020. Click HERE for more information and to sign up.
