Costa Rica Tour Feb./March 2022 - Tour did SELL OUT
About the 2022 tour (dates were Feb. 26- March 7)
First, I'd like to say that I REALLY appreciate those of you who stuck with me for 2 years of trip postponements because of Covid. We FINALLY got to travel to Costa Rica and I, for one, think it was worth the wait. Our first lodge was high in the mountains and COLD. Yes, Costa Rica does have places where heaters, long underwear and gloves are needed. Those after-dinner roaring fires in the fireplace sure felt good! In this highlands area we had numerous opportunities at Resplendent Quetzals and WOW, what a bird! Can life on Earth get any more beautiful? Later, in the Caribbean lowlands area, we had warmer weather and a bit of rain, which made for some unique images and a few challenges as well. Ever try to photograph a Crested Owl during a downpour? We did it. How about white bats in a pouring rain? Difficult to say the least. At another lowlands area we had so many activities (and a few challenges too) that the days simply flew by. After photographing so many birds, frogs, bats, snakes, spiders and more, my shutter finger was sore and my memory cards were completely full. But I'm truly grateful to those who experienced all that we got to do in Costa Rica together - THANK YOU. And I thank you to Costa Rica - just for existing!
All images shown below (except for group photo) were taken by me with a Sony A9II Camera body and a Sony 200-600mm lens, or a Canon 100mm macro lens (with adapter to Sony camera bodies).
