Florida Birds Photography Tour 2020
About the 2020 tour (dates were Feb. 18-23, 2020)
I met my friendly group on a Tuesday. They were cheerful and raring to get out to the photo sites and photograph birds. There were lots of wishes on everyone's bucket list and I did my best to make checkmarks everywhere we went. The birds helped me out tremendously in that regard. Every site (sans one) we went to had excellent bird activity and thousands of photos were taken daily. My group seemed endlessly happy even during those painful early morning drives. The weather seemed perfect for our plans and we had sunny days when we needed them and one cloudy day when we needed that. Even the strong wind one evening helped us out with bird photography because the wind held the birds aloft for a bit longer than normal as they hovered above us. Our finale on a Sunday ended up being a beautiful walk through an old-growth forest where the owls and woodpeckers, plus tons of other species seemed to seriously be set-up and waiting just for us to photograph them!
Thank you to the 7 of you who joined me in Fort Myers...can't wait to travel with each of you again someday.
All images shown below were taken by me with a Nikon D500 camera and either a Nikon 500mm f/5.6E PF lens or a Nikon 200-500mm f/5.6 lens.
I do plan to offer this tour again in 2021. Click here if you'd like to join us then.
